Edna Mae Bow, 91
Edna Mae Bow, 91, lovingly known as “Gambling Granny,” passed away on November 6, 2025. Edna was born on September 27, 1934, in Livingston, Tennessee. As a passionate seamstress, Edna spent many years creating beautiful pieces in a local sewing factory. Her lively spirit was reflected in her hobbies, which included going on Carnival Cruises, gambling, playing the lottery, and completing puzzles. An avid thrill-seeker, Edna rode the Wild Eagle ride at Dollywood annually, 39 times total, taking her last ride when she was 89 years old. Edna’s zest for life, love for adventure, and her infectious laughter will be remembered by all who knew her. Edna is survived by her daughters Darlene Pryor (Eddie Ingram), Katharine Hedgecoth (Bill), and Rhonda Sherrill; 7 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and her special friend Wilma Lee. Edna was preceded in death by her father Forrest Smith and her mother Myrtle Ledbetter Smith, her late husband John Slaven, her son John Jr, her son-in-law Tony Sherrill, her grandchild April Parker, along with 6 of her siblings. Edna’s legacy will continue to live on through her family and the countless lives she touched. Visitation will be held at the Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 12:00pm CST. The funeral service will follow at the same location at 2:00pm CST.
