Elaine “Sissie” Adcock Hensley, age 88, of Decatur, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024.

She was the daughter of the late John Taylor and Martha Bernice Shackelford Adcock. She was a member of Decatur First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by husband Walt Hensley: daughter Sherri Edwards.

She is survived by children: Devra Bostic, Eddie Jewell; brother: John Taylor Adcock; grandchildren: Wes, Troy, Austin, Autumn, Kari, Brittany; great grandchild: Baylee; step-children: Teresa Barham, Alice Byrum; several step-grandchildren and great grandchildren, special best friend of 70 years: Betty Jarvis; several nieces, nephews, other extended family, and a host of friends.

A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m., on Thursday, September 19, 2024 in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Interment will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 20, 2024, in the Decatur Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m., prior to the service on Thursday.
