Mrs. S. Emma Hood, age 89, a resident of Rockwood, Tennessee, passed Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Diversicare of Oak Ridge, Tennessee. She was born September 16, 1936, in Harriman, Tennessee. Mrs. Hood was a longtime active member of the Trenton Street Baptist Church in Harriman where she taught the Young Girls Sunday School Class and was very active in the Church Clothes Closet. Emma was a retired Bank Teller with the former Bank of Roane County which became Union Planters Bank before her retirement. She was known and will be remembered as a wonderful cook and a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry & Ethel Davis; daughter, Dana Hood; sister, Mae Kerley, and brothers, Albert Davis, and Chester “Buddy” Davis; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Survivors include:

Husband of 64 ½ years: Bob Hood

Granddaughter: Jody Levine (Joseph)

Great Grandchildren: Nova Leigh and Kellan

Sister: Betty Robinette

Sisters-in-law: Faye Long

Kathryn Stephens (Bill)

Ralphine Hood

And several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

The family will receive friends Friday, February 6, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the Evans Mortuary. Funeral services will follow on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Evans Mortuary with Rev. Danny Hood officiating. Committal services and interment will follow in the Roane Memorial Gardens in Rockwood, Tennessee.
