Erbie Clyde Davenport, 72

Erbie Clyde Davenport, a beloved member of the Crossville, Tennessee community, passed away on April 12, 2025. Born on November 10, 1952, Erbie was a pillar of strength, a beacon of resilience, and an epitome of love. He owned a tire service business, a trade that he approached with dedication and an unwavering commitment to quality service. His business was not just about tires; it was about helping his neighbors and friends stay safe on the road. Erbie was a man of few words, but his actions spoke volumes. As Plato once said, “The measure of a man is what he does with power,” and Erbie used his to brighten the lives of those around him. Erbie is survived by his loving family, who brought him immense joy and pride. His daughters Laurie (Billy) Seffron, Cathy (Ron) Homchik, and Tess (John) Brewer, his grandchildren Matthew Tye, Kenneth Dempsey Jr, Nicholas Davenport, Jacob Brady, Dustin Seffron, Kyle Brewer, Brittany Hale, Ashley Vuletic, Madison Whigham, Bettie Bungar, Cassie Seffron, Cort Brady, and Alex Brewer. He also leaves behind 19 great-grandchildren, who were the apple of his eye. His brothers Ronnie Davenport and Allen Cooper, his mother Ethel Cooper, and family friends Robin and Brandon Dery, will miss his presence in their lives. Erbie was preceded in death by his father Erbie Davenport, his step-father Allen Cooper Sr, and his siblings Danny Davenport, Marvin Davenport, Kevin Davenport, Steven Cooper, Catherine Davenport, Linda Liberty, and Sylvia Pugh. A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 12:00 pm CDT at the Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. located at 2653 N. Main St., Crossville, Tennessee. The funeral service will follow at the same location at 2:00 pm CDT, Pastor Jonathan Angel officiating. As we gather to celebrate Erbie’s life, let’s remember the words of Maya Angelou, “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” Erbie made a lasting impact on the lives of those he touched, and he will forever be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family.
