MEDIC OFFERS FREE PSA TEST FOR MEN

MEDIC Regional Blood Center Donors September Promotions   WHO:             MEDIC Regional Blood Center   WHAT: Eddie Check PSA Testing MEDIC versus LifeSouth Blood Center Competition   WHEN: Eddie Check – September 12th and 13th MEDIC versus LifeSouth – September 16th through 20th   WHERE: Donor Centers and Mobile Drives   WHY: September has arrived and that means great promotions at MEDIC Regional Blood Center. Men are eligible for a free PSA test on September 12th and 13th through the Eddie Check program. All eligible donors are encouraged to donate between September 16th through the 20th during MEDIC’s annual competition against LifeSouth Blood Center. The center collecting the most red blood cell products wins bragging rights! Blood donors will receive a special edition t-shirt while supplies last and several coupons to area organizations. MEDIC offers several special incentives specifically for platelet donors, including daily e-gift cards, the MEDIC platelet punch card program, and the daily MEDIC gift. Platelet donors must make an appointment by calling 865-521-2684. Appointments can be made online at www.medicblood.org, via the MEDIC app, or by calling 865-524-3074. MEDIC is the primary blood product provider for 25 hospitals, including Blount Memorial, Covenant Health System, East TN Children’s Hospital, Tennova Healthcare, and UT Medical Center, as well as regional air transport. MEDIC recruits blood donors in 23 counties. As a reminder, the blood, platelets, and plasma products on the shelves now would be used in a trauma event, and it takes at least three days for donated blood to be processed and ready for distribution. MEDIC is an independent, nonprofit organization. Products donated through MEDIC truly help community members in East Tennessee and Southeastern Kentucky. Products donated through any other collection activity/organization do not stay in East Tennessee or Southeastern Kentucky.
