The Friends of Cumberland Mtn State Park (CMSP) invite you to join us to celebrate National Pollinators Week 2025 at 10:00am on Friday June 20th starting at the Museum Terrace, which is next to the restaurant.
This free event will begin with a discussion of pollinators like moths, bees, butterflies, birds, hummingbirds, bats and insects, led by Brad Fox. And it will tell how flowers attract these pollinators by their shape, color, scent, and patterns. Brad will bring samples of Bee hotels!
Then we will take a wild flower pollinator walk down to the boat dock and around the ADA paved trail to the office, and back on the street to the museum. This is an easy 1 mile hike. It will go by the 3,900 plants, shrubs and trees which the Friends of CMSP planted with community help last year.
National Pollinators Week is an annual event and is June 16-22nd this year. It will also be a global event starting this year! It is initiated by Pollinator Partnership to raise awareness and encourage protection of pollinators. Pollinators are crucial for the reproduction of about 75% of the world’s flowering plants and nearly 35% of food crops.
