FENTRESS CO SHERIFF DISCIPLINARY HEARING POSTPONED

The state has postponed a disciplinary hearing for Fentress County Sheriff Michael Reagon, pushing the matter to October while an outside investigation continues. Sheriff Reagon is under review by the Tennessee Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Commission, which has the authority to remove his certification if misconduct is confirmed. At issue are allegations that Reagon allowed someone else to complete his required online law enforcement training. The commission also continued the decertification proceedings against Chief Investigator Jerry Mifflin, who faces related allegations. Both men will now appear before POST sometime in October. Reagon remains in office while the outcome of both the TBI investigation and the state hearing are pending.
