FLORENCE EMMALOU BLACKBURN BURCHAM

Florence Emmalou Blackburn Burcham peacefully departed this life on March 22, 2024, while praising her heavenly Father.  Her body and mind are now whole.

She was born in Shelbiana, Kentucky on April 29, 1938, and was preceded in death by her husband: Roger Franklin Burcham; parents: Jack and Grace Virginia Peterman Blackburn; mother and father-in-law: Iva Lee Wells and Zollie Burcham; brother and sister:  Ruey Wray Blackburn and Hila Gertrude Blackburn Hinkle; sister-in-law: Betty Burcham Van Keuren; brothers-in-law: Kenneth Hinkle, Ben Velasquez, Edgel Moore and Ron Van Keuren.

She is survived by her children: Jenny (Bob) Martin and  Calista (Bill Sr.) Pressly of Crossville, TN, Suzy (Clay) Hull of Mayslick, KY, and Roger II (Marissa)  Burcham of Ottawa, KS; grandchildren: Bill Jr. (Katie) Pressly, Candice (Leonard) Schreiber, Lindsey (Jeremy) Roberson, David (Elissa) Martin, Wesley (Casey) Hull, Casey (Quon) Whitley, Kyra (Richard) Horton, Kayla (Brady) Skeed, Tyler (Tayler) Markus, Cody (Mykyla) Markus, Emily Fish, and Seth Burcham; great-grandchildren:  Tru Pressly, Ava Roberson, Kopelli Allen, Cameron Hull, Avery Martin, Karsyn Whitley, Reid Martin, Paxton Whitley, Corrynn Horton, Madalyn Markus, Hudson Markus, Jessie Markus, Oliver Markus, Wilder Hull, Landyn Martin, Collins Horton, Ellie Hull, Sylas Bailey, Baby Girl Skeed and Baby Girl Hull (both coming in April 2024); sisters: Annetta Jo Velasquez, Bobbie Moore, Rosalee (Wayne) Buchanan; brother: Roy (Debi) Blackburn; brother-in-law: Jim (Gloria) Burcham and a host of nieces and nephews.

Flo was a 20-year Navy wife; she greatly enjoyed making a home for her family in numerous locations throughout the United States. She was a retired civil servant, having worked for several government agencies, including the FBI, Wildlife and Fisheries, Social Security Administration, and Defense Contract Audit Agency.  After moving to Crossville from the Mississippi Gulf Coast, she volunteered in Labor and Delivery at Cumberland Medical Center.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

The family is thankful for the love, support, and care provided by her Memorial Baptist Church family, the management, and the staff at Uplands Memory Care and Hospice of Cumberland County.

A private family service is planned.
