FOOD NETWORK STAR PASSES AWAY AT 55

Anne Burrell, a renowned chef and beloved Food Network host, passed away at 55, as confirmed by the network and her family. Known for her vibrant personality and culinary expertise, Burrell hosted shows like “Secrets of a Restaurant Chef” and “Worst Cooks in America,” a highly successful series, and appeared on programs such as “Iron Chef America,” “Chopped,” and “Beat Bobby Flay.”

A graduate of Canisius College and the Culinary Institute of America, she honed her skills in Italy and worked as a sous chef at Felidia Ristorante and chef at Savoy in New York before teaching at the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell’s television career made her a household name, and her book “Cook Like a Rock Star” became a New York Times bestseller.

An advocate for juvenile diabetes awareness, she supported the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and served on boards for the Garden of Dreams Foundation and City Harvest. Survived by her husband Stuart Claxton, stepson Javier, mother Marlene, and sister Jane, Burrell’s warmth and spirit touched millions, leaving a lasting legacy in the culinary world. Details of her death were not disclosed.
