FOUR PETS LOST IN MORRISTOWN FIRE

This morning, Morristown Fire Department received a call to a structure fire on Dedra Drive. Within 3 minutes, crews were on the scene, responding with 4 fire engines and a truck. Crews stayed on site for an hour and were able to contain the fire to the bedroom of the house. The structure did suffer heavy smoke and water damage as a result.
The homeowner did make it out of the home and is currently receiving medical treatment for smoke inhalation. Sadly, 4 pets did not survive the fire due to the smoke, despite fire personnel administering life-saving measures.
The City of Morristown thanks the Morristown-Hamblen EMS, the MPD, MUS, and Animal Control for their assistance.
