Fred Allen McCormack, age 66, a Crossville Tennessean since February 2022, passed away Friday, September 18, 2026 after an extended illness.
He was born in Peekskill, New York on January 23, 1960 to Fred Allen McCormack and Ellen Ann (Lockwood) McCormack.
Fred graduated from SUNY Stoneybrook in New York earning a Master’s Degree in Social Work. He worked in both educational and clinical settings throughout his long career, and his work impacted many lives.
Fred and Joyce moved to Crossville, Tennessee in February 2022. Throughout Fred’s extended illness, he strove to be focused on exemplifying Christian values with Joyce by his side, loyal and faithful.
He enjoyed hiking, fishing, riding roller coasters, and doing puzzles.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce, his daughter, Kaitlyn Rose McCormack (Karl), step-daughter, Kathleen Ryan, step-mom, Elin Howe and his poodle, Pearl. Also by his sisters- Dr. Mary Lee Webeck, Lynn Hartog (Dr. Thomas), Rose Galindo (John), Julie Weisent (John), Rhea Michelle McCormack (Al), and Claire Wray (Mike), and many nieces and nephews.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ellen, his step-daughter, Patricia and two brothers-in-law, Tom Pritts and Dick Webeck.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 3, at 10:30 AM at the Fairfield Glade First Baptist Church behind Food City on 130 Towne Centre Way.
