It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Fred Carlton Robinson II, age 66 of Dayton, TN, on Monday, August 24, 2026, after a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family. Fred was a devoted husband, loving father and proud grandfather of four.

He was born on April 10, 1960, in Chattanooga, TN, to parents Winifred Crouch Robinson and the late T. Jack Robinson.

Fred was preceded in death by his father, T. Jack Robinson, aunt Marguerite White, uncle Robert White, uncle Jerry Crouch, cousin Jack White, and niece Stella Miller Robinson.

Fred is survived by his wife of 21 years, Kathleen “Kati” Angel Robinson; son T. Jackson (Mandy) Robinson II; mother Winifred Crouch Robinson; stepchildren Lindsey Welch (Tyler) Laugherty and Nicholas Allen (Korryn) Welch; grandchildren, Blakey Ann Robinson and Brooks Andrew Robinson; and step-grandchildren, Ella Brie Laugherty and Claire Alanna Laugherty.

He is also survived by his brothers, Brian Crouch (Brendan) Robinson, Patrick Miller (Ashley) Robinson and Albert Miller (Deanna) Robinson; his aunt Susan Crouch; nieces and nephews, Molly, Winnie and Wes Robinson; cousins Jack and Beth Crouch; as well as extended family and many friends who will miss him dearly.

Fred attended The Baylor School in Chattanooga from 1975-1978 and received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from MTSU in 1983. He worked at Robinson Manufacturing Company for 42 years, the Rhea County business was founded by his grandfather in 1927. Beyond the doors of Robinson Manufacturing, he found purpose and peace working outdoors managing family properties.

From his teenage years forward, Fred’s love of bird dogs and horses remained a defining part of his life, shared with his father, T. Jack, and the late David Johnson. Together they bred, trained, handled and judged English Pointers in the All-Age Circuit, traveling to field trials and events all around the country.

He had a true love for hunting and fishing and enjoyed every kind of outdoor adventure. From hunting upland game, waterfowl, turkey, deer and elk to fishing locally and deep-sea fishing, he enjoyed being outdoors and the memories made with friends and family along the way. He, along with his wife, enjoyed traveling to motorcycle and side-by-side rallies, with Moab, UT holding a special place among their adventures.

Funeral services for Fred will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2026, with Rev. Mark Hickman officiating.

A private graveside will be held for Fred at Spivey Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Travis, Tim Travis, Charles Morton, Chip Pendergrass, Boggan Bates and Andy Bates.
