Funeral Services for Freda Thompson, age 83, of the Martha Washington Community, will be conducted on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 6:00 PM from The Chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Graveside Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Midway Cemetery. Rev. Darrell Harvill and Rev. Gerald Phillips will officiate. Mrs. Thompson was born on Wednesday, October 14, 1942, in the Martha Washington Community, to the late Lester and Mary Walker Key. Mrs. Thompson passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at her home. Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker, loved to garden, quilt, sew, and take care of her children and grandchildren who knew her lovingly as “Nina”. She was a member of Midway Freewill Baptist Church and was a devoted Christian lady and wife who followed her husband for over 57 years as he preached and pastored numerous churches. She is survived by her husband of 64 years who she married on May 20, 1961, Rev. Harlon Thompson of the Martha Washington Community; children, Ricky and Donna Thompson of Crossville, TN, Rebekah and Philip Geer of Monterey, TN; grandchildren, Logan (Taylor) Shaver, McKenzie Shaver, Cade Thompson, and Cana Geer; sisters, Betty Miller of Clarkrange, TN, Wanda Faye (Marson) Roberson of Crossville, TN; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Delaine Thompson Shaver, father/mother-in-law, William and Lily Thompson; brother, Lester “Jr.” Key; sisters, Christine Atkinson, Alene Shaver, and Lorene Miller. The family will receive friends at Goff Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM, and on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at the Midway Cemetery for Graveside Funeral Services at 11:00 AM.
