To celebrate the American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day, everyone is invited to hike the 1.7-mile Soldier’s Beach Trail, Saturday, June 1, at 10:30 a.m. at Meadow Park.

The hike will be followed by a free cookout lunch prepared by Park Manager Marlene Potter and volunteers. Lunch will feature burgers and hot dogs and will be served in the Marina Pavilion starting at noon. There will be contests, with prizes, for both kids and adults.

Hikers will meet at the Soldier’s Beach Trail-head parking lot.
