FROZEN HEAD STATE PARK PARTNERING WITH MORGAN COUNTY SCHOOLS
Frozen Head State Park will partner with Morgan County Schools to host classroom visits, after-school programming and field trips for students to the park. The program is funded by a $75,000 competitive grant from the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services (DCS) through the Building Strong Brains Tennessee initiative that provides state funds for Adverse Childhood Experiences resiliency projects. Programming for the students includes nature journaling, team building and hiking experiences. The project aims to increase the understanding of how outdoor learning and nature-based experiences provide opportunities for emotional healing and skill building. It will also provide professional development for teachers and will include monthly community events.
