Gary Carey, 72

Gary was born February 15th, 1952 to Wayne and Ollie Carey. He lived a wholesome childhood where he loved to play ball, fish, and engage in general tomfoolery with his 2 brothers and sister. He knew Jesus from an early age and dedicated his life to him. A nomadic lifestyle of the times meant Gary touched the hearts of many people at a young age including a slew of Aunts, uncles, and cousins. Hard work was never stranger to Gary. Whether it be installing flooring with his dad, lumberjacking, or carpentry, he worked with a happy heart. Gary knew he belonged in Tennessee, so the day after his 18th birthday he was on a greyhound bus Rocky Top bound. Where the tom foolery continued.
He became a nurse in 1980 where he continued to touch the hearts of so many people through the care and compassion he offered his patients. Gary met Donna in 1987 where they were later blessed with 2 kids. They filled their home with love, laughter, and all the simple joys this life offers.
In his later life, The tom foolery continued with weekly card games and giving his grandson the best tickles ever. He fell in love with his local church Jonesville Community Baptist, and never hesitated to tell people about the Lord. The Lord’s light continued to shine through Gary until God called him home on December 19th, 2024
