Gary Ray Emery, age 74 of Crossville, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on June 29,
2024 surrounded in his home by his family. Gary was born on March 16, 1950 to Jack and Jewell
Emery in Crossville, TN. Gary spent his life serving others through his various professions and
dedicated his heart to his wife, children, and beloved grandchildren.
Gary was a man of many talents and he would tell you personally that he got to do everything he
ever wanted to do in his lifetime. Gary was a dairy farmer in Cumberland County, built various
commercial buildings in Cumberland County and surrounding areas, and was a home builder
with his business, Cumberland Mountain Homes LLC., with his son, Gary Emery Ⅱ, until his
passing. While he had various titles throughout his life, being called “Pa” was his favorite. Gary
never met a challenge he didn’t face head on and had countless stories to prove it.
He is survived by his wife, Angie Emery, children, Gary EmeryⅡ, Julie Emery(Kevin), Leigh
Ann Marsh(Eddie), Jack Emery(Thomas), Adam Gibson(Sarah), and Ryan Gibson(Alesha),
grandchildren, Cheyenne Emery, Jaden Emery, Callye Gibson, Rylee Gibson, Corbin Gibson,
and Cody Marsh, sisters Pat Kerrigan(Frank) and Geraldean Caldwell(Keith), and countless friends whom
he loved like family.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Jewell Emery, and brother-in-law Frank
Kerrigan.
Funeral services will be held Saturday July 6, 2024 at 11am at Hood Funeral Home in Crossville, Tennessee.
The family will receive friends on Friday July 5, 2024 from 5pm-8pm at Hood Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Hale’s Chapel Cemetery in Crossville, TN.
