Geraldine Ellen Harmon, 87

Geraldine Ellen Harmon, age 87, went home to be with the Lord on February 17, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering love, faith, and forgiveness.

Geraldine was born on June 20, 1938, in Harriman, Tennessee, to Claude and Mazie McGhee. She was raised in the Elverton community of Tennessee as the oldest of nine children, a role that shaped her lifelong spirit of responsibility, compassion, and quiet strength.

A woman of deep faith, Geraldine was rarely found far from her church or her prayers. She faithfully lifted up her loved ones before the Lord and found strength in God’s promises. One of her favorite scriptures was Psalm 46:1, β€œGod is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” This verse reflected the steadfast faith that guided her life.

Geraldine’s family was the center of her world. She was known for her generous heart, always willing to do anything for anyone. She abounded in grace, showed forgiveness freely, and never gave up on those she loved. She led not by words alone, but by example β€” demonstrating kindness, patience, and unconditional love throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her beloved children Bobby Harmon, Farrell Harmon, and Dianna Major, as well as her siblings James McGhee, Eveadean Malenovsky, Imogene Morgan, Betty Hawkins, Margie McGhee, Juanita McGhee, and Robin Williams.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving children Angela Ooten, Velvet Hickman, David Harmon (and wife Jane),Β Ricky Harmon, Travis Harmon (and wife Amy),Β her sister Renee Bunch, and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the joy and pride of her life.

In her final moments, Geraldine’s heart remained focused on what mattered most β€” her family. Her last words were a reminder of the love she carried throughout her life, as she told everyone how deeply she loved them. Geraldine will be remembered as a woman of deep faith, boundless grace, and a heart that never stopped loving. Though she will be greatly missed, her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the love she so freely gave.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Kingston, with the funeral service to follow at 3:00 PM with Pastor Dale Darley officiating.Β  Following the service, the family will go in procession to Elverton Cemetery in Harriman for interment.Β  Fraker Funeral Home of Kingston is in charge of all the arrangements.
