Glenn B Wyatt, 85

Hood – Glenn B Wyatt, aged 85, passed away on June 20, 2025. Born on January 15, 1940, in
Crossville, TN, Glenn was affectionately known as “Big G”, “The Chip Man”, “Pretty
Good”, and most importantly “Papa”, was a devoted Christian, family man, and ardent
supporter of the University of Tennessee sports teams.
Glenn is survived by his wife of 66 years Juanita “Jane” [Jackson], his brother Richard
“Dickie Joe” Wyatt (Karen), his sister Martha Robinson, his children Derek (Rebecca) of
Crossville, TN, David (Mark) of Atlanta, GA, and Daren (Michele) of Crossville, TN, as
well as his grandchildren Cooper (Kaitlyn) of Baton Rouge, LA and Payton of Crossville,
TN, and many special nieces[Julie Livesay] and nephews. He is preceded in death by
parents Andrew and Bertha Wyatt, his brothers Elbert Ray Wyatt, John “Johnny” Wyatt,
James Wyatt, and his sisters Betty Robinson, Karen McMahon, and Deborah Jones.
Glenn was a faithful servant to the Lord from the age of 13, having become a member
of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Over his 72 years of attendance, he served in a variety of
capacities including deacon, Sunday School teacher, choir leader/member, church van
driver and “unofficial greeter”. Anyone who has attended Bethlehem can attest to
getting a smile and a warm greeting as soon as they walked in the door. Glenn was also
well known for being on the pitcher’s mound in church league softball for many years.
Professionally, Glenn worked for Frito-Lay for over thirty years. If you ate a Frito-Lay
chip in Crossville in the ‘70s or ‘80s – it was most likely delivered by him. He was the
first Frito-Lay delivery driver in Cumberland County and would often be seen in Kroger
putting out chips almost any time of the day. On any given College Football Saturday,
you could find him dressed in orange rooting for his Volunteers or winning a cornhole
tournament.
Over the years Glenn touched countless lives with the love of the Lord and never met a
stranger. Anybody who was fortunate enough to have met him would agree he was
more than “pretty good” – more like “bigger than life”.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 –
followed by a memorial service at Bethlehem Baptist Church and burial at Woody
Cemetery. Glenn will be remembered for his faithful service to the Lord, his incredible
love for his entire family (whether you were a member of the “Wyatt clan” or not) and
everyone else alike. He will sadly be missed by all who had the pleasure to know him.
