Harold Lynn McWhorter, 71

Campbell New – Mr. Harold Lynn McWhorter, of Cookeville Tennessee, formerly of Albany Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at his residence in Putnam County, Tennessee, having attained the age of 71 years, 2 months, and 8 days. He was born on Wednesday, April 14, 1954, in Albany, Kentucky, the son of Harold Carter & Mary Elizabeth (Dyer) McWhorter. Lynn was of the Baptist faith and a devoted member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church in Cookeville, Tennessee. A talented musician, he performed at Tennessee Tech and played drums for his church for over 24 years. He worked at McWhorter Implements for many years and found great joy in bass fishing and helping others with their fishing needs through his work at Outdoor Junction. Most of all, Lynn cherished every moment with his family & friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Carter & Mary Elizabeth (Dyer) McWhorter.
He is survived by his wife, Connie (Elliott) McWhorter, whom he wed on Saturday, October 27, 1990, daughter, Klar (& Jim) Sullivan, siblings, Patrick (& Natalie) McWhorter, Lisa (& Scott) Loux, and MaryLou (& Nils) Fornell, grandchildren, Khloe Sullivan, and Saylor Sullivan, and many nieces, nephews, family and friends
A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 3:30 p.m. C.S.T. in the McWhorter Cemetery, 40 Peolia Church Rd, Albany, KY 42602, with Bro. Mark Gaw officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 beginning at 11:00 a.m. C.S.T. in the chapel of Washington Ave Baptist Church, 1621 N Washington Ave, Cookeville, TN 38501, until 2:00 P.M. C.S.T. Burial will follow in the McWhorter Hillcrest Cemetery in Clinton County, Kentucky.
