HARRIMAN CITY COUNCIL BUYS NEW CAMERAS TO FIGHT VANDALISM
The Harriman City Council met in regular session on Tuesday with only a couple of items on the agenda. One to purchase some bleachers for $18,000 for the Flour Mill Flats ball fields. Second to ask for approval for a rezoning request.
However, when city manager Scott Mason gave his report, he mentioned that vandalism had occurred again at locations at the Riverfront Park. Council members and Mayor Wayne Best aren’t very happy about what’s going on there, so they are now moving forward with purchasing several cameras to be placed there within the park.
There are already a few there but more are needed according to City leaders. Also, it was mentioned by Councilwoman Cheryl Laxton that reward money should be offered to anyone who would turn someone in for vandalizing city property and the other council members agreed.
