HAZEL VANDEVER SMITH age 85 of Crossville, TN passed away December 1, 2025. She was born November 25, 1940 in Crossville, TN the daughter of Edgar J. and Ida Farr. She was retired after more than 40 years with Physicians Associates where she worked as a medical secretary. She was also a member of Crossville Main St. Church of Christ. She was a kind and loving lady who was loved and admired by many.

She is survived by her sons- Richard Smith and his wife Luann of Chesapeake, VA and Anthony Smith and his wife Monica of Crossville, TN, granddaughter- Heather Smith of Chesapeake, VA, great grandchildren- Tyler Arnold and Ethan Arnold, brother- James Vandever and his wife Connie of Crossville, TN, sisters- Ima Reed and Betty O’Dell and her husband Bill of Crossville, TN and many special nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Billy Fred Smith, sisters- Esther Rouse and Allene Simons and special brother-in-law- Dr. Larry Reed.

Funeral services will be held Thursday December 4, 2025 at 1pm at Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11am-1pm two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Acres Memory Gardens.
