HERMAN WALDO age 79 of Grandview, TN passed away March 27, 2026. He was born March 5, 1947 in Grandview, TN the son of Everett and Elizabeth James Waldo. He worked many years in the rock quarry business and also loved farming. He was a kind and gentle Christian man who loved the Lord and his family. He was a member of Chestnut Hill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his son- Herman “Jack” Waldo and his wife Amanda of Grandview, TN, daughters- Karen Wasik of Cookeville, TN and Mary J. Smith of Grandview, TN, brother- Hyle Waldo and his wife Judy of Crossville, TN, sisters- Ellen Phipps of Dayton, TN, Esther Hutchinson (Fred) of Cookeville, TN, Pat Tuttle (Esco) of Grandview, TN and Gladys Phipps (Paul) of Grandview, TN, grandchildren- Bailee Waldo, Kayla Waldo (Thomas), Keshia Sanders (Adam), Jacqueline Hargis (Jeff) and greatgrandchildren- Bodhi Hargis.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Waldo, brothers- Bud Waldo, and Leonard Waldo and sister- Aileen Kilby.

Funeral service will be held Monday March 30, 2026 at 2pm EST at Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Sunday March 29, 2026 from 7pm-9pm EST at the funeral home. Burial will be in Herman Waldo Family Cemetery.
