HIGH SPEED CHASE IN ANDERSON COUNTY ENDS WITH TWO ARRESTS

A high speed pursuit with law enforcement in Anderson County landed an Oliver Springs man and a woman in jail. Officers spotted a vehicle operated by 19-year-old Jared S. Martin on Clinch Avenue traveling at a high rate of speed. The pursuit ended on Hollingsworth Circle when Martin’s vehicle went airborne after crossing a railroad track and came to a stop. Officers allegedly found a loaded firearm and drugs in the vehicle. Martin was charged with aggravated kidnapping, reckless endangerment, evading arrest, and several driving and drug charges. A passenger in the vehicle, 18-year-old Courtney D. Bowling, was arrested on drug charges.
