Hobart Porter Leach Jr., 95

Fraker – Hobart Porter Leach Jr., age 95, of Harriman passed away Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Roane Medical Center. He was born August 3, 1929 in Carroll County to the late Hobart Porter Leach Sr., & Bennie Perkins Leach. Porter was a United States Marine Corp veteran who served his country proudly, during the Korean War, receiving a Purple Heart as well as several other commendations and medals.
He was a faithful member of Youngs Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he had served in years past as a Deacon. He loved his church and his church family. He was also a member of the Kingston Union Masonic Lodge #38 F&AM, where he served as a Master Mason.
Porter was a member of the Knoxville Plumbers & Steamfitters Union, Local No. 102. He worked for many years as a pipefitter at the Kingston Steam Plant.
Porter enjoyed fishing with his wife, Norma Jean while she was still living. They would spend hours of quality time fishing. He was also an avid golfer and made 5 hole in 1 shots. He enjoyed teaching one of his special caregivers and dear friend, Glenna Rutledge how to play golf. That was a great highlight to his life as long as his health permitted.
Preceded in death by his loving wife, Norma Jean Leach; daughter, Debbie Leach; and parents, Hobart Porter Leach Sr., & Bennie Perkins Leach.

The family will receive friends 5:30 – 6:30 pm, Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Fraker Funeral Home with funeral service following at 6:30 pm, in the chapel with Rev. Dale Watson officiating. Interment will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, July 3, 2025 at Kingston Memorial Gardens with military honors conducted by the Roane County Honor Guard.
