Holden Dean Pontious, 23, of Crossville, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on March 30, 2026. He was born on April 24, 2002 in Effingham, Illinois. Holden later made his home in Tennessee, where he was raised by his Nan and Pops. He was known for his quiet nature and kind heart.

Holden found joy in the simple things in life. He loved spending time at home with his wife and cats whom he loved and adored, and playing video games with his friends, forming lasting friendships that reached far beyond state lines. He had a gentle presence and an easy way about him that made people feel comfortable and a love of all music. Everyone who met Holden quickly grew to care for him, remembering him for his warmth, his humor, and his genuine spirit.

Holden is survived by his wife, Kaylee Pontious; his parents Eric Pontious and Amanda Fulton; grandmother, Lisa Quast (Nan); his beloved four cats; brothers, Remington Pontious and Colt Pontious; Goddaughter Amaya Roberts; and a large extended family including his aunts and uncles, Shelby Rodewald (Matthew), Lucas Quast (Emily), Chelsey Loy (Jovan), Clayton Conder. He was also deeply connected to many close friends across the country.

He is preceded in death by his Grandfather, Dennis Quast (Pops); Uncle, Gene Pontious; Cousin, Nathan Pontious Jr. (Bubba) and close friend, Greg Bilyeu.

Above all, Holden will be remembered for the love he shared with those closest to him and the meaningful impact he had on the lives around him.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Services will be held Thursday, April 9th from 2-4 pm at Mayland Baptist Church. 10292 US-70, Mayland, TN 38571
