Howard “Clayton” Pendleton, age 90, of Crossville, passed away on December 21, 2023. He was born March 28, 1933, in Jonesville, Virginia the son of John and Flora Pendleton. He was retired from the United States Postal Service and was also a United States Navy veteran, having proudly served our country during Korea. He and his wife Faye were members of Abundant Life Church of God of Prophecy.

He is survived by his wife: Faye Pendleton of Crossville; daughters: Jayne Warren (Scott) of Cookeville, Susie Knese (Paul) of Dayton, Ohio, and Crystal Lockard (Carl); sons: Joel Taylor of Dayton, Ohio, and Jackie Taylor (Karen) of Dayton, Ohio; grandchildren: Jesse Aylor (Joel), Mike Knese (Jessi), Megan Lockard, and Jackson Lockard; and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife: Mary Helen Pendleton; and siblings: John Pendleton, Mary Lou Hudson, and Alma Ruth Horton.

The funeral service was held Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Hood Funeral Home with burial in Crossville City Cemetery.
