James “Jim” E. Oran, 63
James “Jim” E. Oran age 63 of Kingston, TN passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving wife, daughters, and grandchildren, March 2, 2026, at his home or as he called it “The Lazy O River”.
Jim was a faithful member of Southwest Point Baptist Church. He worked for many years as a pipefitter and later retired from Oak Ridge National Laboratory as an HVAC/Pipefitter supervisor. In his spare time Jim loved to fish, tinker with antique cars, and flip anything he thought could make a few dollars. He had a unique sense of humor and gave every person in his life a nickname. With God as his foundation, Jim built a life centered on faith and family. He led his home and family with quiet strength and unwavering love, always placing Christ first. His beloved wife Tonya, his daughters, Harli-Blaine “Weed” and Rayli “Wilyum” and his cherished grandchildren Stone “Buzz” and Karver James “Tooty” were the heart of his world and meant more to him than anything.
He is preceded in death by his mother Georgia Brackett Oran and his father-in-law and friend Phillip Blaine LaRue, as well as many other extended family members.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years Tonya LaRue-Oran, daughters and sons in law Harli-Blaine and Mitchell Kyker, Rayli James and Caleb Williams, grandchildren Christopher Stone Kyker “Buzz”, Karver James Kyker “Tooty”, father Charles Ray Oran Sr., sisters, Sherry Oran, Jennifer Oran Fugate, brothers, Charles Ray Oran Jr. “Chuck” and wife Michelle, Sam Oran and wife Kristy, mother and father in law, Jacqueline LaRue and Mike Beaty, sisters and brothers in law, Tina and Jason Carne, Toni and James Garrett, Nieces, Abbie, Stefanie, Erica, Shelbie, and Devyn, Nephews, Lucas, Daniel, Marshall, Sammie Ray, Darin, James Michael, Phillip Andrew, and Gary Lee, and many other extended family members and special friends.
A service to celebrate the life of Jim officiated by brother Billy Boyd and Pastor John Wells will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2026, at the Southwest Point Baptist Church, 2271 Decatur Hwy, Kingston, TN 37763.
The family will meet for a graveside service Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 12 noon ET/ 11 a.m. CT in Clarkrange Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 6520 S. York Hwy Clarkrange, TN 38553, brother Dean Patton officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Southwest Point Baptist Church Building Fund.
