James Preston Shaver, age 90, of Decatur, TN, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024.
He was the son of the late Alfred and Nelle Shaver. He enjoyed going to the dirt track, watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren playing sports, and mowing.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Edna Shaver, son: Tommy Shaver, grandchild: Andrea, and siblings: Ollis, Ed, Sarabelle, and Eugene.
He was survived by his sons: Dennis (Brenda), Travis (April) Shaver, and David (Margie) Shaver, siblings: James, Joey, Susie, Rosie, and Sydney, grandchildren: Heather (Nick), Ashley (Cody), Hunter (Maddy), Koebe, Brian, great-grandchildren: Zack, Krista, Haley (Ray), Tommy, Dawson, Daxton, Chloe, Kinslee, Chris, Brianna, great great-grandchildren: Sawyer, Rhett, Chris, 4-legged companion: Cricket, several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2024, in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Rev. Travis Shaver officiating.
Interment will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 23, 2024, in the Beta Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m., before the service on Thursday.
