James S. “Jimmy” White Jr, 83

James S. “Jimmy” White Jr, age 83, of Kingston, passed away suddenly Tuesday, November 12, 2024. He was born March 13, 1941 on Thief Neck Island in Roane County before the TVA flood in December, 1941. He retired from the Y-12 Nuclear Plant after 30 years of service.  Jimmy had also worked for the Roane County Highway Department and Roane County Park.  He loved his grandchildren very much and referred to them as his “Little Wolves”, which was his reason for living.  He stated many times that the reason for taking a breath each morning was his “Little Wolves”.  He loved sitting on the front porch, watching the cars go by.  He also had a great love for animals. In earlier years he was a member of Luminary Church.  Preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years, Jere Ann White; parents, James Samuel White Sr. & Dorothy Susan Hood White; brother, Jerry Alan White.

The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 pm, Friday, November 15, 2024 at Laurel Bluff Baptist Church with funeral service following at 7:00 pm, in the sanctuary with Rev. Cal Adams and Rev. Andy Moore officiating.  Interment will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Brown Cemetery.  Online register book can be signed at www.FrakerFuneralHome.net .  Fraker Funeral Home of Kingston is in charge of all the arrangements.
