JANICE FAYE LAWSON age 89 of Crossville, TN passed away June 23, 2023, at UT Medical Center in Knoxville. She was born March 9, 1934, in Crossville, TN the daughter of Archie and Lillie Bolin Vanwinkle. She enjoyed quilting and quilt piecing. She also liked to spend time working puzzles and tending to her flowers. She worked many years as a cook at Midway School and was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her children- James Lawson of Murfreesboro, TN, Ed Lawson of Murfreesboro, TN, Rosie Wyatt and husband Paul of Crossville, Rachel Lawson of Crossville, Carolyn Bess and husband John of Crossville and Rita White of Crossville, grandchildren- Buddy (Mendy) of Murfreesboro, Steven Lawson (Girly) Lawson of Murfreesboro, Richard Wyatt (Jessi) of Crossville, Jeff Rogers (Heather) of Crossville, Janese Bonham of Crossville, Brian Bess (Mei) of Murfreesboro, Chris Bess of Idaho, Brandi White of Crossville and Dawn White of Crossville, brothers- Jackie VanWinkle (Madonna) and Steve VanWinkle all of Murfreesboro, sisters- Donna Hodge (Bill) of Murfreesboro and Judy Carter of Alabama and a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and lots of family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Olen Lawson, siblings-William VanWinkle, Benji VanWinkle, Joyce McMahan and Wilma Meadows, grandchildren- Joseph Lawson and Laura Bess, daughter-in-law- Linda Lawson and son-in-law- John White.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 27, 2023, at 11am at Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10am-11am, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The burial will be in Thomas Springs Cemetery.
