Jay Dean Monday, age 87, of Grandview, passed away on April 29, 2024. He was born September 15, 1936, in Grandview, the son of Alvah and Lona James Monday. He retired from Emergency One in Ocala, Florida before moving back to Crossville in 2008. He was a member of Grandview Baptist Church.

He is survived by his sons: Scott Monday (Donna) of Grandview and Steven Monday (Shelby) of Ocala, Florida; sister: June Ann Craig of Virginia; grandchildren: Jason Monday, Jesse Monday (Vicki), Leah Monday, Rebecca Weber, Christiana Monday, Shawnee O’Connell (Colin), and Elijah Monday; and ten great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Edna Monday; and sister: Jean Knox.

Funeral services will be held Saturday May 4, 2024 at 4 p.m. at Hood Funeral Home in Crossville. The family will receive friends on Saturday May 4, 2024 from 2 until 4 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Dogwood Cemetery in Grandview.
