Jewell Godsey age 79 of Grandview, Tennessee died on Monday, September 22, 2025 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge.

She was born on May 19, 1946 and was a lifetime resident of the area. Jewell was a graduate of Spring City High School. She was a homemaker and loved to cook. Jewell also loved to read her Bible, word search puzzles and spending time with her family. She was a member of Reed’s Chapel Church of God in Grandview.

Jewell is preceded in death by her husband Billy Godsey, her parents Roscoe Eugene and Willard Reed Morris, and her son Doyle Godsey.

Survivors include her daughter Vanessa (David) McClung of Grandview, Tennessee; her brothers Marty (Betty) Morris of Crab Orchard, Tennessee and Roscoe Eugene Morris of Morristown, Tennessee; her sister Barbara Reed of Grandview, Tennessee; her best friend Wanda A. Reed of Grandview, Tennessee; her grandchildren Chastity (Jay) Wright, Ashley (Randall) Randolph, Billy Doyle (Brandi) Godsey Jr., Nichole McClung, and David (Grayson) McClung; her 12 great grandchildren; her 3 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 4:00 P.M. at Reed’s Chapel Church of God with Rev. Steve Taylor and Rev. Quenton Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Reed Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be given to the Reed’s Chapel Church of God Building Fund, 1618 Happy Top Road, Grandview, Tennessee 37337 in her memory.
