Jimmy Wayne Smith was born on June 1, 1950, in Crossville, Tennessee and passed away at home on July 1, 2023 at the age of 73 in Crossville, TN.  He graduated from Cumberland County High School in 1968.  He married Diana Hedgecoth on January 23, 1971.  Jimmy Wayne retired from Volunteer Energy Cooperative with 45 years of service.

Jimmy Wayne enjoyed attending church, working on the farm, and spending time with his family.  He was a faithful member of Pomona Methodist Church in Crossville.

He is survived by his wife, Diana Smith; son Brent Smith; son and daughter-in-law Jamie and Kelly Smith; daughter and son-in-law Leslie and Jeff Smith; six grandchildren Chloe, Riley, Hayden, Leah, Phoebe and Jonah all of Crossville, and his sweet chocolate lab, Holly.  He is also survived by brothers Billy, Lynn and Ronnie Smith, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents Kermit and Evelyn Smith, and brother Bobby Smith.

Burial is being handled by Hood Funeral Home.  The family will be accepting your respects at Pomona Methodist Church on Thursday, July 6, 2023 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. with the funeral following. The family requests memorial contributions to Pomona Methodist Church, P.O. Box 623, Crossville, TN 38557.
