John Michael Estes, age 66, passed away Monday June 8, 2026, at his home.

He was born in Harriman, Tennessee on March 22, 1960. Growing up John spent most of his time in Oak Ridge and Marlow Tennessee, enjoying fishing, playing his guitar and spending time with his family and friends.

He lived in Knoxville and was a proud employee of the University of Tennessee.

Jon is proceeded in death by his parents Lawrence and Doris Estes of Coalfield, brother Larry, Estes, and many other friends and family.

He leaves behind his sister and brother-in-law, Sheila and Joe York of Coalfield, three nieces Lisa Patterson, Sherry Greenlees of Coalfield and Deborah Wilder of Oak Ridge. Nephew Ricky Chitwood of Oak Ridge also a special lifelong friend Steve Fritts of Oliver Springs.

Cremation was chosen and a private Family service will be at a later date.
