John Robert Ledford, 83, passed away on Oct. 14, 2021, at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville.

John was born and raised in Ozone, the son of Theodore Dallas and Annie Isabelle Price Ledford.  He graduated from Cumberland County High School in 1956 then played football at the University of Tennessee and Emory and Henry College in Virginia, where he graduated.

John was in the insurance industry and lived most of his life in Brookshire, Texas, outside Houston.  He was a lifelong Tennessee Volunteer but also loved high school football, especially the Katy (Texas) Tigers.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Annie, and sisters Theo Ann Aytes and Maxine McKinney.

He is survived by sons John II and Patrick, both of Houston; five grandchildren Nikolos, Abigail, John III, Noah and Elise; brother, Jim Ledford, of Cookeville; a sister, Connie Helton, of Oakdale; and special friend and partner, Sandy Graham, of Crossville and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 20, 2021 at 1pm Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11am-1pm at Hood Funeral Home. Burial will be in Old Moulder Cemetery.
