Johnny R. Dickens Jr, 72

Johnny R. Dickens Jr, age 72, of Kingston, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at his home with his devoted wife by his side.  He was born February 11, 1952 in Knoxville and attended Karns High School for one year, then moving to West Virginia where he was a 1970 graduate of Blue Field High School.  He also attended Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia for two years where he played college football.  Johnny was of the Baptist faith.

Johnny met the love of his life in 1980.  He was a loving husband and soul-mate.  He also enjoyed spending time with his friends, being outdoors and loved fishing.  He was an avid gun & coin collector & watches.

Johnny had worked in Operations at the K-25 Nuclear Plant and later retired as a Security Guard at the Y-12 Nuclear Plant.

Preceded in death by his parents, Johnny R. Dickens & Helen Ruth Biggs Dickens.

A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, November 17, 2024 at Fraker Funeral Home with Rev. SueLynn Johnson officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Roane County Animal Shelter, 296 Manufacturing Road, Rockwood, TN 37854 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.  Online register book can be signed at www.frakerfuneralhome.net.  Fraker Funeral Home of Kingston is in charge of the arrangements.
