Jon Edward French, 74
Jon Edward French went to his heavenly home on February 13, 2026. He was born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, on February 4, 1952. He graduated from Harriman High and was a part of the Roane County community for the majority of his life.
Jon served his community in several different capacities of the law enforcement field. He was an officer for the Harriman Police Department and Special Agent with the Alcohol Beverage Commission. The majority of his career was with the Roane County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy, Detective, Patrol Lieutenant and School Resource Officer until his retirement in 2017.
His greatest love was his wife, Pam, to whom he had been married for fifty years. He dearly loved his sons and grandchildren, too. He also loved to spoil his two cats.
Jon was a faithful member of Trenton St. Baptist Church in Harriman, Tennessee, where he was an ordained deacon, adult choir member and Sunday School Director. Jon was a talented singer and was a huge asset to his church’s music program. Jon fiercely loved the Lord, his church family and his numerous friends.
Jon was predeceased by parents, Bill Burns French and Ruby Stanley French, and brothers, Bill Burns French, Jr., and Edward French.
Jon is survived by his wife Pamela Crass French, sons Alex French and Mark French; grandchildren, Darren French, Jon French, and Julia French; sisters Margaret Brown and Suzanne Brecheen; numerous nieces and nephews; and his two cats, Spike and Cecil.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at the Trenton Street Baptist Church with the funeral to follow at 7:00 p.m. Graveside service 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Roane Memorial Gardens. Kyker Funeral Home of Harriman is serving the French Family.
