Joseph B. McSherry, age 91, of Crossville, TN, passed away peacefully on the morning of May12, 2024, in his home, surrounded by his family. He was the son of Bernard J. And AnnaMcSherry. He retired as a respected superintendent of J.C. Riggs Construction Company of
Lexington, KY and was also a veteran of the United States Air Force, where he proudly served
our country from 1951-1955.
He was a loving husband and when placed in the role of father and grandfather late in life, he
welcomed the journey with open arms and will forever be remembered as the best “Joe Pop”.
Joe was a huge Kentucky Wildcat Fan, and reminded his Tennessee family of it often, just to
see them laugh.
He was a former member of Todd’s Road Grace Church in Lexington, KY. He became a faithful
and dedicated member of Lantana Grace Church when he moved to Crossville in 2015. He had
a servant’s heart and would do any task, large or small without hesitation. He will be
remembered as a gracious man that daily expressed his thankfulness for Christ’s love and
mercy shown to him all the days of his life.
He is survived by his wife- Eleanor McSherry, children- Gordon Boring and his wife Paula,
Darrin Boring and his wife Kim, Kimberly Boring Vincent and her husband Steve, Pamela Boring
Hardman and her husband Brad, and Marlene Boring Warta and her husband Stan all of
Crossville, TN, special niece- Joyce Squires of Lexington, KY, seventeen grandchildren and
nineteen great- grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife- Joyce McSherry and
brother- Barney McSherry.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 16, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Hood Funeral Home with
the family receiving friends ,one hour prior to service at 11:00 AM. Service and Burial will also
be held in Lexington, KY on Friday, May 17, 2024.
