JOSEPH EDGAR WOOD age 80 of Mayland, TN passed away June 8, 2023. He was born January 19, 1943, in Pleasant Hill, TN, the son of Edgar and Christine Randolph Wood. He was retired after more than 26 years of service with the Cumberland County Fire Dept. and was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his son- Michael Wood of Mayland, daughter- Jill Kelley and her husband Shane of Marietta, GA, sister- Joyce Albert and her husband Donnie of Spring field, OH, grandchildren- Brandon Myers, Michael Wood Jr. and Samuel Wood and great grandchildren- Brenden Wood and Logan Wood.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife- Kathern Wood and grandson- Bryan Oakes.

Funeral services will be held Sunday June 11, 2023, at 2pm at Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 12:00pm-2:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Smith’s Chapel Cemetery.
