Karen Fay Butler, 71

It is with profound sadness that the family of Karen Fay Butler, announce her passing on March 8th, 2025, at the age of 71. She died peacefully at home after an extended illness.

Karen was born in Oliver Springs, TN on September 25th, 1953, in Doc Stone’s office.  She was always quick with a joke, a sly smile, or a warm hug when needed. She will be remembered fondly by all that knew her.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Jr. and Clara Butler; a brother Charlie Butler 3rd; her son Randall Scott Wood; and her daughter Rebecca Jan Wood.

Karen is survived by a sister, Janice McPeters; daughters Peggy Dinkins (Curt), Laura Lawson (Charlie), and Stephanie Oakes (Derick); sons Michael Carroll, and Kristopher Carroll (Ashley).

She is also survived by grandchildren Alex Wood, Justin Wood, Logan Tapp, Mariah Tapp, Laila Lloyd, Arlie Lawson, Ethan Oakes, Caryn Moore, Ava Carroll, Maddie Carroll, Teagan Carroll, and Elijah Carroll. She also had a great grandson, Dunkan Tapp.

We extend our sincere thanks to Keisha Frisbie, who in the last year helped take care of Karen and became part of the family.

The family will receive friends on March 13th, 2025, from 5:30-7 pm at Dyllis Baptist Church in Harriman, TN with a Celebration of Life service immediately following with Rev. Dean Wright officiating.
