Ken Deadmon, 85, of Crossville, TN, passed away on August 17th, 2025. He was born in Evergreen, VA, on August 3rd, 1940 to Nettie and Herbert Deadmon. Ken is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Carolyn Jones Deadmon; his daughters, Kelly Deadmon (Victor Verhaeghe) and Tracey Rogers (Tommy Rogers); his grandchildren, Tyler Rogers, Travis Rogers, and Flynn Verhaeghe; and his sister, Carol Knight. He was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond, and his son, Gregory. Ken worked for Sears in North Carolina for 20 years before he and Carolyn relocated to Crossville, Tennessee, in 1978, where they lived in their dream home on Lake Tansi. After leaving Sears in 1986, he served as the general manager for the Lake Tansi Property Owners Association for 20 years—a role not for the faint of heart, but one in which he excelled, earning the respect and admiration of many in the community. After retiring from that position in 2006, Ken began working at the local Tansi Branch of Cumberland County Bank, where his smile, warmth, and remarkable ability to connect with everyone made him a perfect fit for his long career in customer service. Following his final retirement, he was able to spend more time with Carolyn, enjoying the beautiful sunset views over Lake Tansi. Ken discovered his love of singing later in life and became a popular musical act in Lake Tansi, eventually sharing his talents at his beloved church. His rendition of “Frosty the Snowman” is a true gem Ken was the last living charter member of the Lake Tansi Exchange Club and received the Book of Golden Deeds in 2002. He loved golf, fishing, and cheering on his beloved Vols. Ken and Carolyn have been members of Simple Life of the Cumberlands for over 20 years, where they created a cherished community and many lasting friendships. Ken will be remembered as a loving husband, an incredible dad, a loyal friend, and someone who never met a stranger—only a new friend. He touched countless lives and will be missed by many. A visitation will be held at Simple Life of the Cumberlands on Thursday, August 21st, beginning at 4:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Simple Life of the Cumberlands Church in Ken’s memory.
