Kenneth Eugene Fenton, 89
Kenneth Eugene Fenton of Crossville, Tennessee, passed away February 12, 2026, of natural causes and is now traveling peacefully with his Eternal Father.
Ken was born in 1936 to Wayne and Vesta Fenton and spent his early years in the Cortland and Vienna, Ohio communities. He attended Vienna public schools and following in the footsteps of his grandfather, uncle, and father, went on to build a 38-year career with GATX (General American Transportation Company). His work took him from his hometown of Warren, Ohio, to College Station, Texas, where he lived until he retired. Ken and his wife of 38 years, Beverly Fenton, then settled into a joyful retirement in Crossville, Tennessee.
In Crossville, Ken was an active and devoted member of the Exchange Club, often amusing children as Santa Claus. He also spent his time with the Senior Citizens of Cumberland County and many activities of Tansi Community Church. His kindness and humor touched everyone who knew him.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Lorene; his brother‑in‑law, Ed Thomas; his eldest grandson, Gary Weigle; and three step‑sons‑in‑law.
Honoring and celebrating his life are his loving wife, Beverly Fenton; his sons, Jeff and Bruce Fenton; his daughter, Kathy Jurgle; his stepdaughters, Cindy Jadloski, Sally Emery, and Denise Klingensmith; his 20 grandchildren; 30 great‑grandchildren; 6 great‑great‑grandchildren; and his lifelong friend and “brother,” Jim Thomas.
Per Ken’s wishes there will not be a service.
