Kenneth Joseph Palmer, age 78 of Oliver Springs, passed away on February 19, 2025 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

Ken was born on November 30, 1946 in Detroit Michigan and was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Luella Palmer. Ken was an avid outdoorsman who loved being outside, whether it be grilling or smoking meat on his back porch or shooting skeet at Oak Ridge Sportsman Association. He had a passion for fishing and being on the water, especially with his best buddy, Robert. He frequently visited and had many friends at the Oak Ridge Moose Lodge where he loved to play poker. Before his health declined, he attended Union Baptist Church in Morgan County.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 46 years, Retha Palmer; son, Jeffery Palmer and wife Racheal; daughters, Shannon Palmer and her companion, Robert May Jr., and Michelle Genow and husband Rick; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Darlene Palmer; special friend, Robert Hendren.

A graveside service with Military Honors will be at 2 pm on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Anderson Memorial Gardens with Pastor Jason Lowe officiating.
