KENTUCKY GOVERNOR CALLS FOR ALL NON-LIFE SUSTAINING BUSINESSES TO CLOSE

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear is calling for all non-life-sustaining businesses to close by 8 p.m. tomorrow night (Thursday, March 26, 2020).

Some types of businesses that can stay open include grocery stores, drug stores, pharmacies, banks, gas stations, agriculture, construction, transportation providers, home care, financial services, mail, manufacturing, logistics, laundry, and shipping. Restaurants can also remain open for delivery and carry out orders.

Governor Beshear said the total number of COVID-19 cases has risen to 163 cases and four people have died.

He also said one of those cases was from person attending a “coronavirus party.” A group of people between the ages of 20-30 years old reportedly held the party thinking none of them would contract the virus.

“Anyone who goes to something like this may think they are indestructible, but it is someone else’s loved one that they are going to hurt,” Beshear said of going to a coronavirus party. “We are battling for the health and even the lives of our parents and our grandparents. Don’t be so callous as to intentionally go to something and expose yourself to something that can kill other people. We ought to be much better than that.”
