Actor Jonathan Joss, known for voicing John Redcorn in “King of the Hill,” was fatally shot in San Antonio, Texas, on Sunday around 7 p.m. The 59-year-old was allegedly shot by a neighbor, Sigfredo Alvarez Ceja, 56, who was detained and charged with murder.

Joss’ partner, Tristan Kern de Gonzales, claimed the shooting followed a dispute at the site of their burned-down home, where they faced ongoing harassment and homophobic threats from neighbors.

De Gonzales alleged the house fire was arson following prior threats, though some neighbors claimed Joss accidentally caused it. De Gonzales said Joss saved his life by pushing him out of the way during the attack.

Police found Joss deceased at the scene despite attempts to save him. De Gonzales is focused on protecting Joss’ legacy.
