The Knoxville Police Department is investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a Brinks truck early Thursday afternoon on N. Broadway.

At just after 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 26, 2024, KPD officers were dispatched to N. Broadway near the Broadway Shopping Center, where a pedestrian had been struck by a Brinks truck.

The pedestrian, an adult man, was transported to the UT Medical Center and remains hospitalized in very critical condition.

Due to the severity of the crash, KPD crash reconstruction personnel responded to the scene.

At this time, it is believed that the pedestrian fell in front of the southbound Brinks truck for reasons that remain under active investigation.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
