Larry Norman Flake, 79
Larry Norman Flake
Born: February 27, 1945 Passed: February 2, 2025
Larry, or Buddy, as his baby sister Midge named him, was born in Jacksonville, Florida, where he grew up and lived most of his life. His favorite job was when he worked as a welder. When he was younger, he loved to cook, mostly on the grill, and could and would cook almost anything.
He loved his family and friends. He loved Pepsi, hot or cold, and he loved westerns, watching them over and over and over. But the one thing, I believe, he loved most of all, was giving his son-in-law, Tony Cobb, a hard time. And he could do it very well.
He is survived by his sister- Midgie Owens of Hilliard, FL; son- Larry (Laura) Flake of Crossville, TN; daughters- Lynda Maier and Lynn Colter of Crossville, TN; stepson- Eric (Heather) Friedman of FL; son-in-law- Tony Cobb of Crossville; 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and nieces- Punkin, Donna (Sissy) Owens, Rhonda (Big Sissy) Campbell, and Robin Wilson.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents- Norman and Fannie Bell Flake; wife- Cleo Flake; sister- Betty Cole; brothers-in-law- Albert Owens and Jack Cole; sons- Ben Smith and Dusty Flake; daughter- Jerrie Cobb; grandson- Dale Cobb; great granddaughter- IrisRuby Goddard; and great nephew- Kevin Brier.
He will be sorely missed and often thought about. So farewell for now and Godspeed. P.S. Try not to be so stubborn this time around ole boy.
The Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Smith’s Chapel Church. Visitation will begin at 11:00am with the service to follow at 12pm.
