Leverne Warren Covington, 79

It is with heavy hearts that the Leverne Warren Covington family announces his passing on December 1, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on August 2, 1946, in Bennettsville, South Carolina, Warren lived most of his adult life in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina before moving to Oliver Springs, Tennessee nearly 2 years ago.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents, Damon “Leverne” Covington and Virginia Catlett Foy, as well as his stepfather, Corneil Franklin Foy, his stepsister, Betty Lynn Covington, and Warren’s second wife, Marcia Amole. He is survived by his first wife, Ina Duncan Covington and their two beloved children, Neil Covington and Jenine Covington Weinstein along with Neil’s wife Briana Covington and Jenine’s husband, Jose Urdiales. Additionally, he is survived by his stepbrother, Bob Covington. His legacy also lives through his four cherished grandchildren: Sam, Jacob, Isaac and Sarah Weinstein.

A proud U.S. Navy veteran, Warren served during the Vietnam War, embodying the values of service and dedication throughout his life. He was a man who cherished the simple pleasures, enjoying golf, baseball, college football, NASCAR and the music of his favorite group, Alabama. But perhaps his greatest joy was his loyal companion, Ebony (Ebby), his dog and best friend.

While Warren will be deeply missed by family and friends, his memory will continue to inspire and comfort those who knew him.

In accordance with the family’s wishes, services and memorials will be held privately.

Sharp Funeral Home is proud to be serving the Covington family during this time of need.
