LINDA JOAN DAVIS PLEMENS, AGE 81
Linda Joan Davis Plemens of Rockwood passed away on March 25, 2026.
Born October 3, 1944, in Ducktown, Tennessee, she moved with her family to Rockwood in the early 1950s, graduating from Rockwood High School in 1962. She married Raymond Edward Plemens on July 22, 1965, and together they raised two children — Pruette and Nancy.
A graduate of Knoxville Business College, she held secretarial positions across a span of 25+ years at Pond Grove Baptist Church, Roane Hosiery, Dean Thompson Repairs, Walmart, and TVA’s Watts Bar Nuclear Plant.
An active member of First Baptist Church Rockwood since 1982, Linda was known for her devout faith and involvement in the prayer ministry, drama program, the preschool committee, and outreach to homebound members.
When visiting during her recent illness and hospitalizations, her friends and family repeatedly referred to her as a prayer warrior, a fighter, a let’s-get-it-done type, and a devoted, proud mom and grandmother. Linda’s willingness to serve and help others was limitless, as was her faith and optimism in the face of her many health and life struggles.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband: Raymond E. Plemens; parents: Paul G. and Lucille E. (Waldrop) Davis; and younger brother: Larry J. Davis.
Linda is survived by her son: Grayson Pruette Plemens and his wife Deborah of Tobaccoville, North Carolina; daughter: Nancy Lee Plemens Mayes (Tommy) of Roswell, Georgia; grandchildren: Jacob Grayson Plemens and Sarah Wray Plemens, both of Greenville, South Carolina; older brother: Garry G. Davis of Springfield, Mo.; niece: Regina Davis Wright of Rockwood; many other nieces and nephews, cousins, and in-laws on the Davis and Plemens sides; and a large, devoted friend group and church family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to First Baptist Church in Rockwood.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 30, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. Eastern at the First Baptist Church of Rockwood. The funeral service will follow with Pastor Drew Stockton and Rev. Rick Roberts officiating. Graveside and interment services will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 2 p.m. Eastern at Roane Memorial Gardens in Rockwood.
